Statement of Faith
MI-EL Christian School, a Christian private institution, founded upon Biblical Principles, not for profit and with a vision of forming leaders who become a living testimony of spiritual maturity, academic excellence and leadership ability, presents the following Statement of Faith, which accurately identifies its beliefs.
We believe the Scriptures, both Old and New Testament in their entirety, to be the Word of God and the complete revelation of God’s will for the salvation of humanity (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
We believe in one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three Persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit (Genesis 1:1, Matthew 3:16-17).
We believe Jesus Christ is God and Man, He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of Mary. He died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins. He resurrected from the dead, ascended to heaven where He is seated at the right hand of God the Father interceding for us, those who believe and who have accepted Him as our Lord and Savior (John 10:30, Matthew 1:20-21, 1 Corinthians 15:3-4, Mark 16:19).
We believe that the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ; and during this time to convince the world of sin, of righteousness and of judgment through the proclamation of the gospel. He guides us to repent from our sins and confess Jesus as the Lord of our lives. The Holy Spirit inside of us guides us, instructs us and gives us the capacity and authority to live according to the will of God (John 16:7-8, 13-14, John 15:26).
We believe that man was created in the image of God and after being tempted by Satan, fell and became rebel against God, becoming an enemy of his Creator and becoming subject to curse came short of the divine grace unable to come back to God. Because of this condition, man can only obtain salvation through Jesus Christ and spiritual life through the regeneration of the Holy Spirit (Genesis 1:27, Romans 3:24-26).
We believe that the blood shed by Jesus Christ and his resurrection provide the only mean of justification for salvation to all who believe and only those who accept Jesus Christ are born from the Holy Spirit and as consequence become children of God. We believe we obtain salvation solely by Grace through the Faith in Jesus Christ (Romans 3:22-26, John 1:12, John 3:16).
We believe that the Holy Spirit is the one who works in our sanctification, making us produce fruit as it shapes the image of Christ in us. The Holy Spirit help us grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ in freedom, keeping and practicing His commandments and ordinances in our lives so that the name of our Heavenly Father be glorified (Romans 8:11, 13-14; 1 Corinthians 6:19).
We believe in the manifestation of the Holy Spirit through the gifts and fruit given to all of Christ’s disciples (Romans 12:6, 1 Corinthians 12:4, Galatians 5:22).
We believe in water baptism and in the Lord’s Supper as ordinances to be observed by the Church during this present time (Matthew 28:19-20, Acts 1:8, 1 Corinthians 11:23-26).
We believe that the true Church is formed by those who have believed in Jesus Christ, who are regenerated by the Holy Spirit and that are united to the Body of Christ, and that Jesus Christ himself is the Lord and Head of the Church (Matthew 16:16-18, Ephesians 2:20-21, 1 Corinthians 10:16-17, 1 Corinthians 12:27-28).
We believe that the consummation of all things includes: The second coming of Jesus Christ, which we await; the resurrection of the dead in Christ, the transformation of the living (rapture), the visible manifestation of Christ on Earth with power and glory, the trial of the unjust and the fulfillment of Christ’s Kingdom in new heavens and new earth (1 Thessalonians 4:13-17, 2 Peter 3:13, Revelation 21:1-7).
